Preparing Your Model

At Protodemon we are prepared to do all the necessary preparations to your digital files that may be be required before we can build your model and/or prototype. This model preparation will be included in your quote once we take a look at your uploaded model file. Now, if you would like to save yourself a few bucks you can follow these simple steps to avoid some of the inherent problems with model output.

1. Ensure your model can support itself.

We are now crossing over into the real world. Unlike the virtual world that exists in your computer, we now have to abide by the laws of
physics. Please ensure that your model will be able to support itself when standing upright. Not only do we want the model to be able to stand
on it's own, but we also need to get it to you undamaged.

2. Keep your meshes as seperate objects

If you have multiple meshes / objs / subtools in one model, send them all to protodemon.

3. Avoid very thin peices

All portions of your model must contain real world volume.  One-sided polygons contain no value.  Holes in meshes are acceptable.
But the cape you modeled from a grid isn't going to fly.  We recommend that there are no pieces on the model that are thinner than 0.5 mm.
If you are unsure if your model has areas that are too thin, please continue with your quote and upload.  We will contact you if there are
any problems, and how to proceed.

4. DO NOT Polygon reduce.

Our technology can capture very finite details.  Do not reduce the polycount of your models as you may lose details in your build.  To reduce file
size, compress your file using .rar or .zip.
